Notice to all...... a most generous member (noDents) has seen it worth his while to post an entire 1972 parts book here on the Samba!

Everyone applaud and heap praise upon NoDents!

Here is the link......

I use an iPad most of the time.

I found that if I open this large file in iBooks and can quickly jump pages without scrolling endlessly (the file is 798 pages)

Dave,
Thanks!! I've been looking for an English pdf version for a while and managing with the German version until now.

This is great! especially that it includes the engine and mechanical sections. Neither of my two parts books do and simply refer to the Type 1 books for those.

For what it's worth, it's better to right-click on that link and download it your local device rather than view it online.
Clicking on it loads the whole thing into your browser every time.

Yeah...... that's a good 21st Century solution. ^^^

Actually I took a step backwards, I printed it out!

Yep, all 798 pages, plus colored oak tag section dividers....... A lot of paper that is!

I find that printed medium works better for reference works. Easy to flip back and forth, slip in book marks, make notes in the margins, highlight info, etc.

I'll take it to Staples and have it bound into three volumes.

I too was excited to see the engine, transaxle and chassis information!

I LOVE old classic vehicle information like this.

on the other hand, in the modern world, a PDF document can use Optical Character Recogntion (OCR) to aid searches. Unfortunately this version is locked for editing and I can’t use Acrobat Professional to embed the OCR results. Otherwise I would. Nonetheless its great having it.

Everett has uploaded and replaced with an unlocked version.

Hopefully this helps someone as I had been frustrated trying to find part numbers.

Enjoy!
