Bold moves so far on this truck, haha. Good on you for going after it.
I think you need to do whatever you have to though to buy, beg or borrow better welder though if you're really gonna do this. _________________ "A rolling bus gathers no rust." |

Back on its feet!! Major frame repair essentially done for under 50$ That was for drill bits and the 8 nuts and bolts. Getting it back on the ground was easy with a friend this big

Those welds look more solid. Maybe it was the pics from before that was making them look worse because they were far a way and splattered. _________________ "A rolling bus gathers no rust." |

More wire wheeling/paint stripping. Soon to start cutting out rust in replaceable squares.

Does anyone have a picture of the vapor hoses and anything else that go behind the firewall?

Probably going to add at least one more brace. Still need to add the door prop as well.

Desertbusman does:
It's a upwards sloping loop, the end connects to the back of the pipe visible at 7:00 in the filler well on a non CA 70 model.

Good to hear!, impressive work BTW, some would say "pretty good", others "More good than pretty", either way you are getting it done. It's not in my personal style, but that's why many of my projects are still waiting for the time to do it right. looks like you are going to be on the road by summer and as long as you don't look too close it'll be functional and solid, hard to argue with that considering what you started with. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Thanks Busdaddy, that means a lot. I think the rust and rot that I started with did indeed deem this truck a work truck right off the bat. If I bought the correct Gerson panel for every part that had rust, I would have a whole new truck and some rusty parts they dont make yet. Trying to weld all those patches flush without a mid welder also seemed like too much for a truck that will never be perfect. When its done. It will LOOK great!... From 10 feet away.
Save all the trucks! _________________ BUSLUST IS NOW IN HIGH SPRINGS FLORIDA!

The truck is in storage until we make our move to Florida and I can find time to come back and pick it up. Hopefully within a few weeks Ill be back at it. Not much happened this winter in the way of progress. _________________ BUSLUST IS NOW IN HIGH SPRINGS FLORIDA!

Some body work has been done. But slowly working on it as I am also building an earthbag home which has taken up much of my time. Once that is complete, I'll focus more on this project.
However, I'd say I have 95% of the parts ready to go on when I get it going! _________________ BUSLUST IS NOW IN HIGH SPRINGS FLORIDA!
