That was good news hearing about them.
I have to ask...was it more work making the video then getting the Syncro back together?
Great video! _________________ This free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

By the way, awesome video. It must have been difficult to edit down the countless hours of hard work into less than 4 minutes. Amazing build and truly one of the nicest syncros in the country. Well done! |

Big news!
We are changing engine type to VW TDI CR 2.0!
While we did not have to wrench a single time on the engine we realized that there was the VW 2.0 TDI CR everywhere from Mexico to Ushuaia in South America. I realized then that the ideal engine would be one with parts available everywhere so here it is!
VW 2.0 TDI CR.
I'll be posting the step by step install procedure as so many has asked.
Thankfully my new package is all equipped with fuel filter, fuel pump, intercooler, intercooler pump, full exhaust etc... Everything is built in like a glove so once it is pushed from the underneath it just need to be bolted to chassis and that's it!
Also, all the parts from this setup are engineered after our accumulated experience from our trip to south America so things are super sharp especially our ECU and harness that display everything that you need to know on an app.
One more upgrade: we now have a transmission temperature sensor that is telling the ECU that if the transmission is overheating it would drop the engine power accordingly!

Looks good, Greg! I was hoping someone would find a good use for the supply of late model TDI engines that are now out there. It looks like you've put a lot of hard-work and attention to detail into this conversion. I especially like the design of your engine mount bars.

Did you use spacers or had to modify the centerhole on the rims?
Thanks

Seriously you should start a new thread for this conversion, not change the title. _________________ Tencentlife said,

I don’t know, it’s like a continuing story of awesomeness and growth. Should you really cut up the adventure like the Star Wars franchise has done? _________________ I'm not a mechanic, I just play one on the internet

If someone were looking for information about Volkswagen common rail engines, I don't think a thread about Japanese cars would come to mind. _________________ Casey--
