What is it?

I think the part number is 701927127

I found something that says its a transmission switch. Maybe sport? And I've seen roof blower switch.

Any ideas?

I also have reason to believe that this van has been through some stuff. Maybe new/used dash, door panels and who knows.

Why not just make a custom set of wires with a Y splice in them. Then you could just run one distributor.

I don't think electrickery works that way

As far as I can tell it does nothing.

It has a wiring harness plugged into it? I have some blanks if you prefer that. It was probably for “smoke screen”, but you’re just out.

I imagine this guess is correct. I'm not sure how you would confirm it, though, unless you were really good at sensing the responsiveness of the transmission. I think I remember seeing some tables in the Bentley that specified the exact speeds at which the transmission shifted. Maybe you could use that to tell if it's doing its thing.

The early 90's Eurovans had the "sport" switch to allow the transmission to Rev higher during acceleration. My 2 Eurovans had these switches but something must have broken in the 26 years that they were on the road as they did nothing too.

Do NOT push that button at highway speeds!! That button is used to make the transmission hold a lower gear longer when climbing & descending hills.

When I had my 93 we called it the "retro-rocket" switch cause it gave a big boost to trans shift points. It was a hoot around town.

My 1992 manual says its a Sport switch. I don't touch it, however, I have a follow up question, I recently drove up a friends insanely steep driveway (we're talking 14%+ grade) and as the van slowed, it kicked into a super low gear that I didn't recognize from normal driving. Is this related? It felt like it downshifted from 1 into.... 0.5 gear?
