I got my car back from paint after a parkinglot accident and my lazy ass body guy didnt think he needed to fit the hood before painting and here is the result.
The hood that is on it now is a replacement from another 71. How do i go about fixing this. Really starting to make me mad _________________ "This is air. Air is for breathing and for cooling car engines. Air won't freeze up, air won't boil over. Ask any Volkswagen." (o\_!_/o) |

Is it caused by the latch adjustment? _________________ My beetle is not competing with your beetle. I have the yellow beetle in my town. There is a red one, a green one ......

Looking at the last picture, it appears that the gap at the cowl is too big. The hood needs to be moved back on the hinges. Then by placing a block of wood on the latch, grab the hood at the very outside edges, about halfway between the latch and the hinges, and using your weight, push down like you are trying to close the hood.
DON'T HIT IT! Just give it downward jerks.
Then adjust the latch.

If your painter had the hood off the car during paint, it looks like he didn't do a good job putting it back on and aligning the hood properly. There is some ability for adjustment where the hood bolts attach to the hinges. _________________ scrapyards are for quitters
