|
|
Just bought a 1970 Ghia coupe, motor came in pieces. VIN is 1402572098, Chassis # 140-2572098, Engine # D1357837. I am new to Ghias, so any info will help. We are taking the body off to replace the floor pans. It has been a California car, no other rust, why do the pans rot out so badly ?
Thanks,
Jed |

I would be surprised if it is the original motor, very few are. |

If the car was originally a US market car, it would have come with a B6 series 1600SP. D series engines were August 1965 and later 1200cc engines; I'm honestly not sure if those were even an original equipment offering in non-US markets or not in the Ghia. _________________ 1960 Ragtop w/Semaphores "Inga" |

Thanks for the replies. The motor is not in good condition, so we will pursue buying a rebuilt 1600. We aim to make this a high quality restoration, and plan on having it as 'stock' as possible. |
