Volksrods added to title: Other VW Vehicles / Volksrods.
I moved pretty much everything I found by doing a title-only search on Volksrod and also went through most/all of the links previously posted in this thread.
If you know of others post links or pm me a listing or hit "report" on the thread and post a msg telling me to move it. _________________ How to Post Photos

Oh no... It wasnt just me..... You are a main drum beater for sure..
It was merely just a optional suggestion I think we both made... way back....
I think it suits just perfect.
I mean.. we are all used to these being called "That Other thing"
I have been clicking "report" to flag posts to Everett that may pertain to Volkrod questions or cars to move over as well.
The Volksrod inclusion to the "Other Vw" forum ... probably wont amount to much..but it may create some traffic for TheSamba. who knows..
Now ....We'll find out. _________________ aka Ken {o\!/o}

Dudes,
Re-tasking parts is ok. Creating specialty parts from gender specific OEM style parts is way cool. VW based "rats" need to be Steve McQueen and James Dean as opposed to Barney Rubble meats the Beverly Hill-Billies. That's for the "Oldsmobile Bros." crowd. Porche hasn't offered trailing arm torsion bar suspention or Link and Pin front suspesion in decades. A "rat" should be true to its lineage. The Ford front beams, pancake chops that are in the weeds and so low to require a pull ring tend to lessen driveability. Take a '65 ghia with a full tube cassia and roll cage whittled down to a shell registered and street legal. Think go-kart. 205 55 14 nitty extreme drags on 14x6 rims or 205 50 15 Dunlop mounted on 7x15 centerlines. 6 inch ground clearance, rerouted east with a pancake motor for lower center of gravity. Body is still all metal. Clean registrantion/non-op. That's my idea of a VW based "rat". Hello, Willow-Springs! Just don't do a full on James Dean in route to the track.
