I don't know what everyone calls them, they seem to take on a lot of names.
Wind Blocker, Wind Screen, Wind Deflector....

On the Convertible, It is a screen behind the front seats to prevent air flow onto the back of the neck and make the ride more pleasant with the top down.

I've had many convertibles over the years and one thing they all have in common is the wind blowing in as you drive...... (Well DUH! You took the top off!)

Some are made of a clear plastic, some are a mesh design.
Some are free standing others fasten to the head rests.
Some fold down with a cover over the luggage area/rear seat.

Point is, has anyone with a Ghia Convertible ever made one or has seen the need for one?

If so, what was your solution?

Too much snow, too much time to think!

Dave

I could see where one of these might be useful on a Ghia. I have one with my Mercedes E320 Cab. Its nice to use on those sunny, cool Fall and Spring days when its nice enough to have the top down but a little cool for the full wind. Mercedes says the deflector reduces the wind by 75% and I believe. Its really nice to have. Just crank up the heat with this in place.

interesting that you brought this up, I was cruising through E-bay a couple days ago and found this:

Wind Deflector

Rather pricey at $282. I imagine you can build one with standard tubing, mesh, and a ratchet system like used on a beach chair where you have to click it forward to release back. I've thought about this before as well, but considered putting in some type of roll bar and then having a screen you can attach with Velcro straps when needed
