I'm working on a Split bus, with a SA conversion, so its got a Bug transmission.
When changing the driveshaft gaiters, I found one side the flange diameter was approx' 88mm which is normal and fits the gaiter properly. But the other side the flange is approx' 84mm so the gaiter is baggy on that side.
Any ideas? I've never seen flanges anything other than the larger size.

Split case transmissions had the smaller diameter. I'm not sure if that was the case for all of them or when the change to the larger ones took place. Progressive Refinements should document that change.

in Jan of '61 the split rear axle boot spare part was changed from 85mm to 89mm so the change on the flanges must have been somewhere not too long before that. _________________ Chris
