Oh Happy Day Dancing I love checking things off the list. This has been a long time coming, but finally have the main repairs done to the chassis.

All the frame rails have been repaired, the cross members replaced, treasure chest I beams, outriggers, jack points, control tubes and heater tubes. Etch primed, seam sealed and painted with gray enamel.

Might have an opening before the first of the year...this one will be going on hold for a little bit while I catch up on other things.
PM me with what you are needing done.

Got Larry's SC back in the shop.
My plan is to finish the metal work on the rear half before moving on to the cab.

Decided to tackle the bed floor next.
Larry will be using this truck to occasionally haul stuff, so a pristeen bed is not needed. Fortunatly 95% of it is still very solid, so the decision was made to cut out small sections and "spot repair" with fabbed pieces as opposed to entire panel replacement.

This old truck has had 5 coats of paint on the bed, two of which are a gummy, brushed on thick enamel. Last fall I did a test area with the sand blaster and it was taking an enormous amount of material and time to remove this paint, so I stopped. I've tried a few different ways to remove the paint and the best bang for the buck is hand stripping with a "hamburger wheel"
Still time consuming, but believe it or not, it is faster than the sand blaster was moving.

The small dents will be overlooked, but there were some huge dents where something very heavy must have been dropped on the bed. These areas were pushed back up with a combination of heat and a jack in the treasure chest area.
