How big of a wire do I want to use to ground engine to frame horn or body?

At least as thick as the positive battery cable, since that is the limiting factor for current in or out of the battery. I think those are something like 4 or 6 ga. Or use a webbed ground strap like VW used... that will carry the load.

You can get those at almost any parts store...Just a braided ground strap....I get mine at Carquest...
