Hi guys,
Recently I decided to include a new member to my family, so IŽm gonna start to build my new 62ŽSamba Bus scale 1/8, since I saw it for the first time I was impressed by details, IŽll include a few pictures of the first couple of pieces, every single week a new piece is released so it will take a lot of time to complete but I`m sure it worth it!, each part includes a magazine with a brief comment of the history of the bus and the instructions for assembly.
Hope you like!!
Thanks!

There will be 120 magazine issues, each one cost 10 dlls, 1200 dlls.... which for sounds like a lot of money but I think it really worth it! |

So this bus is being built part by part on the installment plan? That's neat, but you're in trouble if you miss an installment! _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

53.5cm long, that's huge!
Will be cool to see it all together |
IŽll need to find a good place at home for it, not quite sure if it will fit in my studio or in my garage! Most of it is made of metal so its final weight is almost 18 lb. IŽll post new pictures as soon as I have a decent progress on it. |

This is the first installment... it includes basically the nose and the emblem....which has an excellent paint, plastic pieces could be better although.
HereŽs a brief comment regarding the content in the magazine.
From paper to reality: the birth of the Transporter
«Born» in 1949, the Transporter quickly became a worldwide success, but its gestation process was not easy. With the design and put into production in just one year of that completely new vehicle, Volkswagen - which in practice was a brand newcomer to the market - showed that it could be at the same level as the other veteran manufacturers.

This is the second assembly, one of the front wheels, IŽm so impress on details, tire seems almost real itŽs made of rubber however I had a hard time while it got installed but nothing that hot water and patience could fix. It even has Continetal inscription and tire size, hub cap its plastic thatŽs a little bit disappointing.
Samba: luxury on four wheels
Without doubt the most recognizable version of the first generation of Type 2 was the Samba. With its panoramic windows and its sunroof, it was the top of the Transporter range. Far from the Spartan basic models, the Samba was a model of real luxury.

Assembly 3
Engine lid and front bumper....
The lid is great, I wish bumper was metal but it don't....
The VW T1 Westfalia
Camper conversions are one of the most charismatic versions of the Transporter. Those offered by the German company Westfalia adapted so well to Type 2 that they were adopted by Volkswagen as an official product, in a collaboration between both companies that lasted throughout all generations of the Transporter.

The Brazilian Transporters
Volkswagen do Brasil has always been one of the most important subsidiaries of the Wolfsburg brand. The "Bug" was revealed as a very successful car in that country and the Transporter did not lag behind, with its own evolution developed by the American subsidiary.

Passion for Samba
The Samba model is the object of desire of many collectors and amateurs, which has caused a spiral of prices that has made it far from the reach of many pockets. Anyway, there is no doubt that the lucky owners of a Samba enjoy it enormously.

Uses of T1 in its infancy
From the beginning, the Transporter proved to be an enormously versatile vehicle. The different variants launched by Volkswagen allowed him to cover a wide range of uses and services that would not stop growing during the following decades.

The T2 Last Edition
The Transporter is a well-loved vehicle in Brazil thanks to its reliability and versatility, which allowed it to be manufactured there for decades, to the point of being the last country in which the T2 was produced. To say goodbye to the model, the Brazilian factory created in 2013 a limited series, the T2 Last Edition.

History of an SO-42
The SO-42 was destined mainly to the American market, although one of the units of 1967 returned to Europe, where today it enjoys a second youth, since not only it has been receiving numerous accessories of time, but it is still used regularly as a vehicle camping.

Fanwagen, a Volkswagen for the fans
In 2011, Volkswagen carried out an advertising campaign in the Netherlands through Facebook, in which a Type 1 and a Type 2 T1 competed to be restored. The most voted would become the vehicle of the fans, it would be restored and offered as a gift to one of the participants.
