I am thinking of add fabric to interior of my poptop. Probably a Hawaiian print. Wondering if anyone has done this? |

One thing to bear in mind is that the interior of the top can get wet with condensation under some circumstances. The flocking has always worked well in these conditions and never showed any after-effects - though I always allow it to dry well at the first opportunity. |

I have a friend that added headliner fabric (thin foam backed material) to his pop top. It is 100 times nicer than the stock flocking. One day I will do the same. |

A few years ago I scraped the mildewed flocking off the inside (had the top off for painting, easier to do when it's on a table top). Glued the silver Reflectix (bubble wrap style) insulation inside, then glued a perforated marine-type headliner to that. My hope being that the "dew point" (temperature where condensation will occur) is inside the Reflectix so no condensation will happen and the thin open-cell foam under the vinyl won't become a wet sponge. So far it's been working. This is very light weight so doesn't make the top any harder to lift.
The headliner: https://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1|5948|2333932|2333935&id=206609
Since I was also replacing the tent I ran the edges up (down?) the sides of the top and let the canvas cover them so no loose edges showing.
In the recess for the skylight (which I don't have) I glued in extra thicknesses of Reflectix to make a flat surface, not a concave one. |
