Bummer, sorry man. Great that you got in some good visits ahead of time - always thought that being able to say goodbye was a gift with my Dad.
All the best...

Sorry for your loss! Be grateful that you had so many years and memories with him. I lost my Dad 22 years ago. He was only 53. I lost my stepfather who was in my life for 40 years 6 months ago. He was 88 and a Korean war veteran.

Time certainly stops for no one. Sadly, it's not until we reach mid-life that we realize we should of enjoyed and cherished our younger years with our parents and other older family members who are now mostly gone.

Growing older isn't for sissies! But, we're are blessed to grow older while others are not so lucky.

Hope you take good care of yourself in the coming weeks!

I'm sorry for your loss man. I lost my dad a few years back, rather unexpectedly. It's a beautiful thing that you got to say goodbye.

Don't cry that it's over, smile that it happened.
Mine left 5 yrs. ago, Mom joined him 3 months ago. I'm still walking around in his last pair of New Balance sneakers. Laughing Have a guy coming to pick up her portable wheelchair ramp shortly. He dealt with shingles his last 13 years, and they were both taking a dozen different pills a day. He drove Busses as long as I knew him, a '64, a '75 like mine, and an '84 Vanagon.
They're in a better place now, even though there's nowhere I'd rather be than here in this house he built and died in. It's sacred ground to me. Peaces.

Sorry for your loss fella, 93 is a damn fine innings.

Think of the happy memories you both shared, shed a tear and don't be ashamed to show it and raise a glass in the bar!
