Not from the get go, but it has masterfully evolved into such.

Maybe- but taking a ton in to the recycler pays about $22.00 / ton. I think the last time you checked was in 2003.

On a whim I Googled 'cardboard furniture diy'. Some people have way too much time on their hand. I'll continue recycling the stuff.

Let's not get into further political stuff here but if you want to read some facts about Trump & Amazon, here you go:

Thank you.

I have noticed that sometimes Amazon ships a small item in a huge box. I can only surmise that a computer program is determining that by using a certain size, shipping is cheaper (small is not always cheaper if the sizes don't pack well in a pallet/container).

Yes, I believe it is all computerized for optimum throughput.

The futuristic version of "Packed by weight, not by volume" as seen on potato chip and other packages for a long time. Smile

Amazon uses the size box they have. They may only have 12-15 basic size boxes. It is not cost effective to have hundred different size boxes for every size item shipped. If they are out of the size box they need to ship your item then they grab the next larger size box that works.

Amazon is a pet friendly company. Those boxes are forts for your cats.
