Wow, how many comedians did this wonderful lady give breaks too. Who will step up and replace her?

The late Gary Shandling didn’t think so much of her per his memoirs now playing on HBO.

Patrick F. McManus, a prolific writer best known for his humor columns in fishing and hunting magazines who also wrote mystery novels and one-man comedy plays, has died. He was 84.

McManus wrote monthly humor columns for more than three decades for the popular magazines Field & Stream and Outdoor Life, the columns later appeared in books. He also wrote other books, more than two dozen in all that included a guide for humor writers, and a series of mystery novels with a darker form of humor involving fictional Blight County, Idaho, and Sheriff Bo Tully. Altogether, he sold more than 5 million copies and appeared on the New York Times best-seller list.

I heard about this within an hour or so of his death. But I could not find anything about it at the time to post in here.

He was born and raised a couple miles north of where I sit. An interesting and funny guy.

I listened to his show every night back in the early and mid 90's. Still catch it sometimes with George Noory hosting.

One of my favorites. I have all of his books and have read them multiple times each. Everyone a good story.
