Up until the early 80's everything was closed on Sundays in Canada, it was a law IIRC. Great time to go test out that new go cart or go give junior a driving lesson

Sunday shopping wasn't allowed here until the mid 90's, and then it was only allowed from Labour Day until Christmas. I'm not sure when it was finally allowed all year long.
