No dyno yet, It is plenty of power for his 66 bug with the 4.37 R&P and smaller tires, It revs really fast too. I'd guess about 130 hp

My mild 2007cc
C25 cam
1,1:1 solid Scat rockers
044 heads with 3 angle valvejob. (Came with a shitty seat job from CB)
IDF 40 copies, with 32 venturies
SVDA dizzy
78mm crank (Whole rotating assembly balansed)
Scat conrods 137mm (5,396"?)
Forged B-pistons
26mm oil pump fullflowed through HP-3001 oil filter. (8 micron filtration)
All in a brand new Alu case from Auto Linea.
CSP Python exhaust
JPM valve covers
Stock cooling tin + flaps and thermostat. Sandblasted and painted. Fan shroud massaged and welded to fit the carbs.
KEP stage 1

Fuelfilter is moved to the electric fuel pump next to the trans.

Result; an almost vibration free powerful monster that pulls like a tractor from 1000 rpm.

Type 4 2056 in a '72 Westy Camper. This is the original Type 4 1700 cc that was bored to 1911 cc and then stroked to get 2056 cc. Outline spec:

96 mm bore x 71 mm stroke
9:1 CR
Ported 1800 heads heads 41 x 34 valves
Eurorace C cam, 270 degrees x 0.425" lift
40 mm IDF pattern throttle bodies with multi point injectors
TPS
CSP manifolds, match ported
CSP bell crank linkage
The Dub Shop loom and crank fired ignition
Megasquirt 2
Cylinder head and ambient temperature sensors
Oxygen sensor
Stock heat exchangers & exhaust
228 mm clutch
Uprated oil pump
Remote underside oil cooler with thermostatic plate

The dyno run was part of what was supposed to be a final setup of the map on the rolling road after I had street tuned it for a couple of thousand miles first. After the dyno run, I re-did a lot of the map on the road. It is noticeable on the road that the torque comes in around 3,000 rpm, but it's certainly not gutless below that. It pulls hard to the red line and has seen an indicated 85 on level road. 0 - 60 time (full camping interior) using the data logger is 15.35 seconds, still in 3rd gear (longer FD) at just under 5,000 rpm.

2276
Cb 82mm crank
94mm AA pistons grant rings
SLR XR310 cam with SLR treated lifters
Cb 1.4 rockers
Cb chromoly pushrods
Straight cut cam gear from CB...very quiet by the way
CB super pro heads 44 x 37.5
Brazilian mag case
CB Hbeam rods
Dual Dellorto 45's
Bugpack 1 5/8 header with Mondo muffler
Bosch 010 distributors witb points
10.4:1 compression.......runs cool....head temps averaging bout 315......oil temps coming down as the new build loosens up.
Rancho transaxle with chromoly short axles and 3.88 ring and pinion. Gear set out of a 73 superbeetle.
Stage 1 kennedy pp. Solid disc without springs.
Horsepower? I'm guessing somewhere between 185 and 195......motor won't stop pulling.
Low end torque loss from the long duration cam? Nope. Motor "comes alive" at about 3 grand and will break your neck. Lots of power and lots of fun.

It is if you drove it. It pulls harx from the start and really hits hard at around 3 grand. Hard wnough at the start to easily spin the tires without dumping the clutch.

SLR XR310 cam-lobes deburred. With 1.25 rockers that measured out to 1.34 (.525 inch lift at the valve)
Udo Becker tool steel lifters
Chromoly pushrods
Dual Dellorto 45's
Mofoco 050 cylinder heads, hand ported by Roy, not as cast. Dual springs 42x37.5
Bugpack 1 5/8 merged header with single Mondo muffler
Glen Ring rebuilt Bosch 010 cast iron distributor

Kennedy stage 1 PP with solid daiken disc
Swingaxle rebuilt by Rancho with 3.88 ring and pinion and super beetle gear set, super diff, steel shift forks, heavy duty side plates(Currently being built, should be done around the second week of July)

No numbers yet, just an example of a different combo.
Not a clue how much power but will have it on a dyno within the next month and a half or so. I'm sure it will be enough to give me a big grin when I step on the long, skinny pedal.

Image is prior to taking the tin to the powder coater. Test fitting and trimming....and the cylinder went in the trash...I opted for OE German cylinder tin....better fit...much better fit.

This combo can easily get 180plus hp . Smile

I'm guessing about 185....wideband tuning this coming week and then it'll be going on a chassis dyno. I'll post up the dyno slip as soon as I get it.

Nice curves! That torque is so flat, I'm very envious. Great flow for 35.5mm intake! Very nice, bravo.

Valve cover venting / breathing??

I am building a 1915 engine for my 69 Doublecab. Do I need valve cover vent??

Previous engine for 15 yrs ( random use) was 1776 with no vents and seemed to be fine.

Thank you

20.5 lbs. was as high as it would go.

Mario thought it would go over 200 whp at the higher boost.
That's for another day...........

Amazing results Clone! Seriously well done mate. They are some great numbers. You're really showing us all what mild spec parts can do with the help of a little boost...well...quite a bit of boost really. Very Happy

My guess would be that the hot side of the turbo is holding you back now. I've been told by people that know more than me that air cooled motors need a bigger than normal hot side.

I figured out the reason I could only get 20.5 lbs boost on the dyno.
The whistle at idle on the dyno was not a bad bearing in the alternator but was a leaking intake boot on the right side.
I tightened the clamps a bit and I am now back to 22.1 lbs boost but the clutch is slipping when it hits full boost in third gear.
I will be picking up a Stage II pressure plate this weekend to fix that issue.😁😎
