What a coincidence - your Ghia's birthday month and day are just one day off from my own.
(It just happens to be five years older.)
I'd be perfectly happy to promise that I'd legally change my birthday to exactly match that of your Ghia should I ever just happen to be officially designated its future caretaker upon your inevitable "resignation".

Looking GOOD! - It's about time Doctor Who traded in that boxy old blue Police box for a much more curavious Karmann Ghia.

Well he certainly has the hair for it, anyway. |
Bloody hell Daryl I've just had my hair cut...it was blowing a gale yesterday hence the windswept look. It has been said I resemble the Jon Pertwee incarnation of Dr Who but only since my hair turned grey. I prefer to be considered a Roger Waters lookee-likee as he only lives about 5 miles down the road. I'm making a reasonable living selling autographs. _________________ John.

That's all well and good as long as you're not expected to sign all those alimony checks.
All joking aside, it seems very fitting that a Karmann Ghia once owned and cherised by an artisit like Betty found a new home (half way around the world, no less!) with an artisit such as yourself.
If the Ghia doesn't already have a name, you should consider calling it Muse. |

Thank you kind sir...it does already have a name, I call it "The Ghia" and Betty called it "Baby" _________________ John.

Ha! I don't think you need my help taking pictures Dwayne.
The bias plys are fine...in the dry. At the same time I have to say I have very little experience using them in other than perfect conditions. |
So in other words, on both of those days over there in the UK? :wink |

I like the way your Ghia's front wheel is cocked just slightly to the side.
Like a Dior model's leg, or Bogart's hat. You certainly know how to get the "pose" just so.
Lovely setting and a great car, by the way. _________________ Festina lente - hasten slowly

Shhhh.
If you look back through my pictures you'll see nearly all of them take that pose. If you're taking a three-quarter front or rear shot turn the front wheels to show a circle not an oval.
I sometimes forget and run back and yank on the steering wheel to correct the pose. _________________ John.

So you're saying that you've been Itchen for some world-class trout fishing lately?
... or perhaps that considering where you live, it would be more appropriate for you to own a Trout Blue vintage Karmann Ghia?
Although somewhat "plain" when compared to many of your other Ghia photos, for some reason ^^^ that ^^^ one really captures my attention.
In your "spare" time (on some rainy day, perhaps?), do you think that you could Photoshop in an old stone wall in place of the more modern fence currently there in the background?
That would make it just perfect!
As usual, your photos are simply beautiful - thanks again for sharing. |

Yeah I like that picture too...typical of the rolling pastureland in these parts.
Ah fishing on The Itchen or The Test can be very expensive Daryl. That's but one reason I don't fish, the other being my dislike of impaling live wiggly worms on hooks...yuk.
As for stone walls, not in this yer South of England. We go for thick green living hedges. Should you wish to "lay" a hedge of your own this is how they do in these parts.
Link
Dry Stone walls are a feature of the North of England and of course YouTube also has a tutorial on how to "Lay a Dry Stone Wall"
Link
Ask yourself...where else but The Samba could you learn all you need to know about Karmann Ghias AND how to lay a hedge or Dry Stone Wall. _________________ John.
