Does anyone know the gutter to gutter dimension on a bus roof?
Same dimension as the foot to foot measurement of a roof rack.
thanks,

Problem is there is a certain amount of flex to the roof racks. That way if the bus is a bit off from others in that dimension.....
Used a roof rack and inside dimensions to get as close as possible for the roof work needed for our SO-34 Westie. Inside measurements are not same at front and rear points in our 1960 panel.

Might help to know what you need the measurements for... _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

Im assembling a modified Nice and Easy Rack for surfboards with a spare tire platform.
Modifications are bored out tube holders to accept Yackima cross bars, spacers to elevate the cross bar above the roof peak and I used bored out tube holders to attach the platform to the cross bars.
The bus is a good 30 minutes away and I'd like to "rough in" the whole assembly, with platform, and then lift it on to the roof for final adjusrments,
a bit of blue thread locker, and tighten up.
And that's what I need the width for.
I believe you were thinking about using one of these racks at one time also.
Thanks,

Using a square off the roof rack on our 1960 walk thru panel camper conversion, getting about 56" (1422.4mm) from outer gutter edge to outer edge on the other side. Probably need about 3/8" (10 mm) off each side of that to get the feet properly inside the gutter.
Yes, still have that rack project on the back burner, till finding four pieces 6" (152.4 mm) or so long, 1" (25.4 mm) outside diameter aluminum tubing that has thick enough wall to it. Need those for vertical risers to clear the roof. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |
