Am I Missing Something Here? - Vent Window Latches

Original 55 frames but the latches are 56+ CIP repros. The latches seem too wide for the frame.
I would get them from WW but I'm afraid they are probably the same supplier.

IIRC the pre-56 frames are indeed narrower than the '56 and up frames, at the latch positions. To assess the repro latch, can you test fit it into a later frame to see if it fits there?

Well nothing a little grinding and a rubber mallet couldn't fix.

The '56-up latches are thicker because the '53-'55 latches tend to break just by looking at them. The thicker bases fit the earlier frames without any alterations. You may need thinner gaskets between the base and the glass, though. The earlier and later handles can be swapped, as the tangs are quite different, as well as the handle (ribbed vs non-ribbed) and the push button (rounded vs squared off).
