I think that's the British Petroleum 'BP' shield.

Some stuff here about oil company film units... http://www.screenonline.org.uk/film/id/1350767/index.html

the logo certainly looks like the old BP logo.

I know it's a BP logo. My question was meant ironically. That guy looks like a soldier holding a gun over his shoulders.

Another coachbuilt from Vienna possibly KRSS, Schreiner or rather Kastenhofer.
aluminium framed side windows in a converted 1953 panel.
Does it have a rear hatch ?
the rear window area appears to be quite enlarged. wonder whats up with the 3rd search (?) light on the roof peek. ambulance? military? police? driving school ?

Incredibly nice and high res pic of a way cool van.

This panel conversion piqued my interest. Beyond the bright trim on the side windows, did anyone notice the thick interior around the windows? Seems unusually wide too me, much more than what would be needed for a normal passenger interior. Perhaps roll up windows, as have been seen on some conversions?

could be roll ups. But keep in mind that these vans were real 'coach builds', not only by name. ash wood frames would be screwed and even nailed inside the panels and roof structure for reinforcement. they were also great tack strips for headliner and upholstery. So possibly what can be seen inside the windows is simply wood framing.
Did anyone notice that the rearmost side glass appears to be longer than the door glass. this is typical with Kastenhofer converted panel vans.

Roll up window is a option for sure.

What's with the very light color VW emblems on the hubcaps ?
Jailbars setup, exhaust pipe, no trim on engine bay louvers?!?
peculiar grabrails and front/middle seat tops.
Skilites look a little odd as well.
Not a real factory DLX ?
updated by another coachbuilder ?
bus is from Vienna ( W=Wien)
