So I lowered the 73 front end with dropped spindles. Looked great. Got rid of some of that gap with the 185 tires up front. Then I replaced the shocks all the way around. Now to those that say shocks won't raise your vehicle.... I give you this. If your shocks are worn out, new shocks will raise the vehicle. Which it did. So my question is...I remember from back in the day with a lowered bug front end, we ran I think it was a dodge dart front shock with a lowered front end. Anyone have a idea of a shorter front shock that might close up some of that gap?

Shocks can't even support the weight of your hand pressing down on them, there is just no way that same shock can raise up 800 plus pounds per wheel. Struts can raise ride height when the strut itself is taller than an old one - shocks simply can't.
Likely when you installed the shocks the pressure they applied to each wheel simply caused weight to shift, making gaps larger at certain angles and smaller at others. |

If you place short shocks onto your rig they will ‘top out’ when the suspension un-loads. The drop spindles don’t change geometry of the works. So short shocks would only serve to limit your beam’s travel. _________________ I Corinthians 4: 1 thru 5
