Hello, I need some help with identification and tips on how to fix some of my dash issues. I will be the first to admit, I really struggle with the concept of electricity and wiring. I plan on taking some sort of electrical related classes in the near future. The following are pictures with description of the problems. Thanks in advance!!!!!
First, I am not too sure what this plug is for and where it goes?
The PO did an absolute terrible job with this radio install. Will the off the shelf kit for aftermarket radios clean up this issue? Or should I take it to a radio store?
My bottom flap will not move all the way to the right. It moves about half way and it starts to feel like something is binding/bending.
My Odometer and has never worked and I would like to fix that. Also the clock just runs like a timer. Is there a timer setting that I don't know about? Or is the clock busted?

While the stereo wiring isn't very sanitary, it appears to be the standard aftermarket scheme.
Yellow and Red are your 12v positive (battery and keyed)
Black is ground
Blue is for a power antenna and not used
Grey, Green, White and Purple are your speakers.
If you're lucky all that will be printed on the head unit itself.
Your clock probably has one of the adjustment buttons stuck in the depressed position. Get a needle and fish around to try and pop it back out.
The flap is more than likely a binding cable and/or a bent end where it attaches to the lever.
The speedometer needs to come out and probably needs the odometer gear to be staked back on--hopefully it isn't broken in half. _________________ Casey--

Okay the button on the left for the hour looks kind of broken and pushed all the way in. |
