I’m sorry if this has been covered, I’m searching but I can’t find the answer.
My Thing is my daily driver, I’m 52, eyesight is good, but as far as my side mirrors go, I need bigger.
Are the bay window bus ones bigger than the stock Thing ones?

The "real" Thing passenger side mirror has a raised stalk to position the mirror higher on the car. This helps a lot, especially when the side windows are installed. I think the Bus mirrors have the same sized glass as Thing mirrors.

There are many Jeep aftermarket mirrors available (check Amazon, just as an example), which the creative fabricator could adapt to the upper door hinge mounts. The threaded hole mount might be too flimsy for something like this.

Just out of curiosity, I've seen many "P.R." photos of Things with the side mirrors oriented vertically. I have always had mine horizontal, assuming it would give a wider view.

Bus and Thing share the same mirror head and glass.

you could try to get a 74 passenger mirror, they have a bit longer arm, better to see with.
They are not easy to find. but come up every now and then.
