I have looked at all the pictures and taken some of my own, hard angle, but I can't figure out what actually holds the cable in place on the latch. it looks like it passes thru the lever that actually does the work to release the latch, then thru the little cylinder and then is bent. when I straighten the cable (no longer bent at the cylinder) I expected the cable to slide back out so I can replace it. But no! Is this the way it works or is there some set screw that holds it in place? Where? Any picture out there for me to look at that shows? Thanks fellow Thing owners!! |

End of barrel is small Phillips set screw hard to see even harder to find. Tough a gel you can reach through the access hole on the metal, that holds the latch. Look at it a while and let me know how you do. CORRECT Thing hood latch adjustment can be a tough task. |

It looks like no set screw from these pictures. Do you agree or is it someplace else I'm not looking. If the set screw is missing as it seems, I should be able to just pull the wire thru, right?

I believe that the set screw is viewed from the top down. Post a photo from that direction. It is a Phillips head screw if memory serves me right. |
