I have a '77 Westy (mine for about a year now) and the EGR light recently came on. I checked Muir (as I always do when something out of the ordinary happens) to see what the cause could be. The idiot book mentions that the light will come on every 15k miles as a reminder to check the valve. The book states that I should be able to reach up behind the guage cluster and feel a reset button. My bus has an under dash a/c assembly and I have not been able to feel the button. Not sure if I am just not able to reach up far enough or if the reset may be located elsewhere. Has anybody ever ran into this? I am not sure how to get the light to go out aside from a small piece of electrical tape over the light Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Remove the left kick panel. Follow the speedo cable down to the black box. On the box will be the reset button. Press it and the light will go out. |

Thanks for the info. I seem to remember seeing the black box last time I had the kick panel off. I'll give it a try tonight.
Thanks again. |
