I've heard the Crosstrek will be best, now how can I convince my mom that? |

She will likely get a subaru
but were not sure which one offers the best performance? Between the Forester and the Outback, or even maybe the Crosstrek.
Which has the most travel?
Are all the suspensions the same?
Which has the lowest center of gravity?
Any additional thoughts or comments are appreciated. I'm having a very hard time digging this type of information. |
The Forester is built on the Legacy platform, and the Crosstrek is built on the Imprezza platform.Basically the Legacy is the Imprezzas big brother. They are very similar, but the Legacy is built like a tank. The head gasket problem is a thing of the past.My wifes mail car(Forester)has 325000 miles on original head gaskets. The Crosstrek(we have one too)is smaller and sportier.I prefer the Forester, but if its just your mom,the Crosstrek may be the way to go.The crt trans takes a little getting used to,but after that you don't even think about it.Its just weird not feeling shifts at first. We have taken our XT to Fla several times from Ohio.2 of us,all our luggage,2 bikes on the back,80mph and about 32mpg.Hope this helps. _________________ 64 Sunroof

No idea what you are talking about nor where you get your info from, unless you're mistakenly thinking of Nissan. _________________ I'm the humblest guy on this board.

Wrong. Both those vehicles share the Impreza platform, with the Forester's a "stretched" version. The Outback is built on the Legacy platform. _________________ I'm the humblest guy on this board.

The 2019 forest pictures have been released. I've seen these converted to long travel.
Could long travel be added to a Crosstrek? Or will that become an option? |

You've been asked 3 times now why suspension travel is so important in a car your mom is buying. You sound like a junior high school kid who wants to do a lot of modifications to a car you didn't buy with money you don't have. _________________ I'm the humblest guy on this board.
