Hi everyone, in one or two months I want to put my 36 idf carbs on my 1.6 oval bug. The engine is almost stock, with lightened flywheel, balanced crank and pistons-rods weighting the same
The carbs have this setting:
220 air jet
F-57 emulsion tube
145 main jet
47 idle jet
32 venturi
I was thinking to run it on stock heads, but I have seen a new set of 40x35 heads including valves and high rev springs for $400, the ones sold by empi, build by autolinea (I remember that are pretty similiar to 044's from CB performance)
The question is: what jetting should I use for an engine with stock heads and cr? If I buy de 40x35, I will raise the compression to about 9:1. Should I change the jetting with those heads?
Thanks and cheers from Spain |

Saludos caballero'
Are the air bleed bushings modified or original because that will make a difference on the jet sizes...if the air bleeds have been modified to 1.20mm like a IDF we see here in the states then this are a good starting point for a stock 1600.
28 vents
47 idle
F11 tubes
050 ITC pump discharge jet
180 airs
120 mains
Here is the link how I modified this 36 IDF's
