Man I love your street rail. Exactly what I want to do once I find a suitable vehicle. Keep it up. Want to see more!

Time for an update.

My arms and sway bar arrived late last fall... And due to traveling and winter, everything was set on the shelf until spring.

First, remove the old arms, cvs & axles.

Yeah, that's gonna work.

A little paint, cleanup of old grease and time to start installing new parts (after a trip to the local buggy store... FYI, if you are in greater KC, get to know Steve at Specialty Buggy Supply).

The above photos show the new arms installed with the parking brake. I have new rotors and Wilwood calipers to be installed (maybe tonight).

I am still waiting on some parts (new Fox Coilovers), but they are taking forever to get here!

I am ready to get this damn thing back on the road!

Stock(ish) horsepower ~200.
No major mods to the motor. K&N intake, FMIC, straight exhaust and a manual boost controller.

I haven't turned up the boost yet. I want the rear suspension & brakes sorted before I get boost happy.

I'm guessing between 1500-1700... But that is pure speculation. I hope to get some corner weights in the near future.

She moves fairly well. I do, however, wish the gearing was taller. I will turn up the boost this summer and see how she goes.

Sweet ride!

Prior to having the custom fab on the rear, what did you use to lower the rear and how much did you lower the front?

The big thing for the rear is to have the arms built with the correct camber so when lowered, you are not left with a ton of negative camber (which is a byproduct of the VW IRS configuration) --> /--\

Ideally, you want something that is more neutral |--|

Kevin @ Cool Rydes built the rear arms. I have new fox coilovers sitting in my garage that will be installed very soon. This will get the rear end sitting as shown (without a jack holding the weight).

The front end is from Airkewld... Adjustable beam + lowering spindles. This combination gets me low without bumpsteer issues.

Thanks for the info...

One more thing. With those wide tires, are you experiencing hard turning?

Thanks!

Thus far, not a problem. I do, however, have some wandering issues at highway speeds (due to lack of caster in the front end).
