Looking into shifters, currently have a drag fast. Its ok, but I miss gears more than I would like, especially downshifting. I will work on my adjustment to see if I can improve the situation, but if I'm unable to improve would like input on shifters.
Not a fan of the t-handle, or trigger style reverse lockouts. Pressing down on the shifter seems much easier than manipulating a button and shifter (jamar super shifter). Hate the price, but I hate grinding/missing gears more. Will be going into a tube buggy. How much fab work will be required at the shifter box switching from a stock style to a pro-x style? Does the shift rod need to be relatively level with this shifter? |

The 5/1600 race car that my son recently competed in the Baja 1000 in has a Jamar Pro-X shifter. My son thinks its good. That car used to have a Super Shifter.
If your car previously had a stock-type shifter mount, then you will need to install a new shifter mount. Maybe fabricate one from scratch.
Whether the shifter needs to be level with the nose of the trans, depends on how many u-joints you have in the shaft linkage. _________________ Richard
