I don't recommend the Valeo starters, oftentimes they don't fit for some reason. The Latrical starters are excellent quality and less expensive.

The Valeo starter (my used one experience) has an extra tooth on the gear and the shape is out-of-round so it does not fit the adapter.

well... add me to the list of very impressed customers. ever since my rebuild 10k miles ago, my new Bosch OEM starter would balk like it was fighting compression or advanced timing. always started but never confident sounding.

put the adapter plate on with an LActrical starter as well as an additional ground cable directly to the starter. holy smokes. super confident cranking with no hint of stoppage. current draw seems less, also, as i was able to crank for an extended period with the battery staying up as i was trying to prime the oil pump. i'm concluding my Bosch OEM rebuilt was simply weak.

all that said, i'm not sure the engine itself cranks faster. it SOUNDS faster as it is a gear reduction unit but i haven't looked at the crank pulley while it is cranking to see if it actually IS spinning faster. but it is absolutely more consistent and confident in cranking.
