There's a web site called westfalia.org that used to be a great source of information for Vanagons. I joined it many years ago, when Captain Mike was the administrator and major contributor. The Captain passed away some years ago, and now the site seems to be defunct. It still has an internet presence, but there doesn't seem to have been an recent activity.
I tried to do a search, but it wouldn't work because the Capcha feature was broken. (Yeah, it was weird to see that, since I was already logged in to the site.) When I went to contact the administrators about this, I found out that my message didn't go through because ... you guessed it ... the Capcha feature was broken. So it seems that there's no conventional way to make contact with the administrators.
Are any of them on this site? Or does anybody have contact information for them? I'd hate to see it go away. _________________ -- JLT

I don’t have the answer but I spent countless hours there in the late 90s/early 2000s. Captain Mike had terrific knowledge and strong opinions! Sometimes he was darn entertaining. For some reason I didn’t find the samba until this decade (my google-fu has never really been that good). _________________ - Jim

I got the name of the owner of the site from another Samba member, and have written him. Thanks for the lead, Paul! _________________ -- JLT

Well good luck with that. In the past I contacted the owner of the site and was told that it was just a side " thing " for him and he really wasn't that interested in it.
Not so long ago there was a great deal of porn spam appearing. It went on for quite some time. After contacting the owner, I was contacted a few weeks later and given the above information.
Capt Mike was ...... well....... a captain |

I made contact with the list owner and he's removed the Captcha thing from the search feature, so the search function is useable again. I don't know whether you have to log in to use it, though... or even if memberships are still available. Evidently the registration function also depended on the Captcha thing.
He says that when he has some spare time, he'll go over the web site and fix the bugs. _________________ -- JLT
