Hi Guys,
Yep, the PATINA craze is definitely becoming popular
I can see the PATINA look on the blue body of the Oval VW but the metal trim looks totally rusted
Where do you draw the line between PATINA and totally rusted

| Well, if it were mine and I had time I’d either find a product to knock the crusty rust off and put it back together or refinish the trim and leave the body alone. Everyone’s different and in the end it’s your car, so do what you want. If this was the only one you had, (I doubt that though lol) I’d wouldn’t restore it. If you have 12 of them then have at er, paint it pink. Haha |

That’s awesome Bob, but I’m not the guy to change your plans with it. I think it’ll look great and more people will appreciate that look these days. The body’s not ratty and full of holes. If someone found a 50’s bug or bus it that condition and they were in the know, they’d polish and clean it up also because it’s still so decent.
Let me know when you’re done and you want to double your money!! 😁 |

I am happy to see that you have Flitz in your arsenal of refurbishing products (I have used it for years), but perhaps it will meet its match with those hubcaps and bumpers. 
As far as the tires go, could you soak them in Zymol Seal conditioner or somesuch? |

I am not familar with the Zymol Seal product, looked up the reviews, looks good . . .
I have been using the silicone compond for years and will stay with that product . . thanks for letting us know . . .

I amazed at the transformation of the trim pieces just by using the Flintz polish. Will need to add that to my shopping list! |
