I towed the tractor with swivel. It's a good towing bus, drives better than with no trailer!

Took my Dove Blue single cab to a car show in Austin yesterday. Parked by my friend Eric and his double cab, and my friend Lupe with his Oval vert. Great show, 200+ VW's.
And, thanks Everett for supporting the show!

Looks like a factory VW ad and the safaris tie in perfect with the glasses; don't know if that was intentional. Super photo matthew henricks. |

Took the kayak up to Meech Lake for a spring paddle. There was about 100 feet of clear water: the rest of the lake was ice. Maybe next week.
This is a late spring.

Snagged some heavy duty Blue pallets from work this week, they will come in handy stacking the split wood. _________________ Tom

I fixed my stupid mistake of forgetting the spacer between the wheel bearings when I installed the IRS kit, got a good bleed on the brakes and took her for a spin. It felt fantastic to drive my Bus again. If only it were still sunny today.

My daughter bought her first house so the bus becomes both a moving van and a trash receptacle. We had to rip out the drywall (sheetrock in American) and stud wall in the basement and take the moldy debris to the dump. It's nice having a flexible interior that permits both camping and hauling.

Took a back screen porch to the dump, from the same daughter's house as in the previous photo. It was only about 800 pounds of junk but it did fill the bus completely.
I also use the bus for chores and camping. It is just this thread which seems to highlight my dump runs.

Took a load to the one-day hazardous waste dump - used motor oil, paints, solvents, old propane canisters. Good thing we did not have a collision as the bus would have been an inferno with all those combustibles.
The dozens of kids in Tyvek suits doing the unloading swarmed the bus. I told them that the bus really constituted haz waste itself and was a major polluter. They loved it nonetheless. |
