The front end is torsion just like the rear, loosen reatining bolt but dont take it out, on opposite side you are adjusting. mark current position, then remove grub screw on control arm and rotate up for lower, thats the basic there is a more descriptive break down in the forums _________________ I drive my VW or I walk

Put a jack under the lower A arm & take the downward pressure off the ball joint when you're removing/installing the horizontal ball joint bolt. You will ruin the threads if you don't! _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Hey folks! Been a little while since I've posted. Been really busy with work stuff and My wife and I are expecting our first kid in November! I would really like to get the truck running before my kid is born so that I can drive it to go get the bodywork started. Is there anybody in ventura county area of southern california that could lend a hand if I get lost trying to get this thing running? it would be nice To have someone around who knows more than I do about these cars (and I don't know too too much 😃).To refresh, I have an engine and trans that came out of a running driving squareback, there is a harness in the car already so I'm going to start working on plugging it all back in.Hope everyone is doing well! -danny |

I wish I could Mike! They are definitely the right people and I'm sure they would get a kick out of the car. But I just don't have the money for that and I'd like to do as much as I can for the knowledge/experience. I have a family friend that does bodywork for a living, I know alot of horror stories start that way but I wouldn't take it to someone I wasn't sure did good work lol. Currant plan is to make it run and drive at my place then drive it to said friends place for the bodywork. |

Quick update, nothing too exciting. Did some rust minor rust repair on the passenger side interior and got a new exhaust to replace the trashed header that was on the engine. Just something to run until the truck gets a newer watercooled powerplant.

Put this FI/AT engine in & get it running! I love mine in traffic etc! Support the chrome end of that 'single quiet pack' exhaust or it will hang/drag.

Working on it brotha! Hoping to be able to drive it for a little while before academy starts and baby shows up, then drop it off for body work while I'm completely preoccupied for the next year or so. |

Agreed. Thanks for the update. Keep plugging along as best you can, as it helps create space that you lost. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Got alot of the fuel line and some vacuum line replaced. Figured out I'm going to need some linkage pieces for the throttle body, throttle pedal, and transmission. Also scored a work bench and 2 grinders from Craigslist today!

My OG fuel hose had pinhole leaks, so replace every piece of yours! Put up a WTB ad for all the parts you need to get it running/driving. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Stripped the old harness off the donor engine and started hooking up the harness in the car. Pretty close to making noise Hopefully!

Couple small things today, got a throttle return spring, intake bellow on but needs a little adjusting, exhaust is on. I know the exhaust is way wrong but it was super cheap and will be changed when i upgrade to a hotter engine. Also discovered my throttle cable has been broken for a very long time but was left in the car lol.
