D135 engine case

Found a add on Samba for a 1967 VW Beetle with a D135 engine case in it and was wondering if anyone knows just why the car would have that engine in it. Is it some original set-up?

I sent him an e-mail and got a reply but he does not know why it is a Dual Port with a engine case number for a 1200 engine.

The engine # tells it is a 1200 from 1975. The case is the same as an 1600, so maybe someone needed a new case and put the other parts on it.

I found a DO case Looks like it could be built into any 1600 this one is already opened for 85.5's.
