| Does anyone know of any early, say MK2 or other VW model 4 speed non-electronic automatic tranny. I have heard they exist. Looking for one for a project build. Thank you! |

I looked into this and assuming you are talking FWD, there are none that I know of that did not have some type of electrons going inside it. Those electrons were controlled by a computer of some sort.
If you are looking for a lower final drive, a TJ transmission is the lowest I found with a 3.12. |

All of the (US available) VW automatics were mechanical up to 1992, all of them were 3-speed (with the exceptions of the Corrado & Passat with the electronic 4-speed).

| Do not forget about the 93 Cabriolet, it was a 3 speed automatic. |
