My Judson supercharged 36 horse has never really ran right, and the last time I drove it, it really laid down on me. Wouldn't go over about 25 mph. No smoke, no noise, just a power loss. I was tired of messing with it, so I swapped in a really good running 40 horse out of a 64. This weekend I cleaned up and painted the tins with motor in the car. I had to pull the fan shroud to fix a leak at the oil cooler. Anyway I sat the Judson from the 36 horse on it, and other than the pulleys not lining up,and maybe interference with the fan shroud, is there any other reason it won't work? I can overcome the two problems I mentioned, but I don't really see any other problems. So I was just wondering if anybody has done it. Thanks, Dean |

the housing hole and studs position differs between 36 and 40 versions. you have to swap the compressor body and probably pulleys to make it work. should be possible to modify the manifold flange to accomodate for it. i have to do the same on a 40 kit for fitting on the 36. i believe the double pulley will have also interference with the decklid. |

I've decided not to mess with it. The 40 horse runs good without it. I need to look into my original 36 horse, and fix whatever is wrong with it, and put it back in. Good luck with your install. |
