Porsche 356 crank, 74 mm. Looks like the gland nut was not torqued properly and the dowels made the holes oval.

So, can I have the holes welded, turned and then drilled for a VW 8 dowel pattern? I would drill into the undamaged part, offset from the filled hole. And the VW dowels are itty bitty compared to the Porsche dowels.

Intended use is as a stroker for a 36hp case. Probably grind rod journals for 36hp rods. Maybe even change stroke to 72mm to ease the fit at the cam.

So, nuts or not?

I had an 84mm, Porsche journal Okrasa crank welded and machined for oversized dowels after a very similar incident. I would imagine that DPR could do it, if not PM me for the contact info of who I used.

Dowels are the same on 36hp and 356 cranks.
