Nice . I'll keep, this pic in the top of the Forum just to keep the Purist' colons working overtime.
Maybe zap out the center bar and put a Bay windshield in it and start a new trend _________________ .ssS! |

Hello Guys,
Here's my contribution to my favourite colour's thread...it's a 68 kombi early bay, so don't kick my ass!
Before resto...
After...
Original velvet green colour label...
Paint stick...
Portuguese type23 brochure...
My son deserves one as well...given by VW dealers in 68!
Cheers! |

I've seen several European (or maybe just specifically Italian??) buses with the little red stripe on the nose underneath one of the headlights. What does this signify? Were they part of a certain fleet or company back in the day, or just coincidence that I've seen more than one like this? |

I've seen that before too- and wondered if it called out the side of the steering wheel on commercial vehicles- to quickly signify that it belonged on a particular side (or either side) of the road? _________________

These stripes were only used in Italy, and only on trucks. As far as I know, the stripe indicates a certain kind of license for transport. 1 stripe is for domestic transport, 2 are for international transports. |

I was told the stripes were compulsory in Italy when transporting (your own) goods. They were on the front and on the back.

Oh oh, I predict these will become the new, hip commercial version of the magnetic "slow moving vehicle" add-on for the next few years. I'm already making mine _________________
