Does anyone know the width and thickness of the foam seal that goes between the gas tank and the body? |

If you use the really thick stuff you end up having trouble getting the four gas tank bolts back on. I cut up a cardboard box from amazon...worked great! _________________ 1963 Beetle

I use generic hardware store weatherstrip. Depends on what is in my box as to what I use. I like the medium density gray stuff - about 1/2" wide and about 1/4" thick for beetles. But if I am out, I will use the lighter stuff. Its really not that critical. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.

I use the same rubber trim that goes on the door tops. Looks super but it does require a small section is removed underneath to establish the ground connection for the fuel gauge... |

I have a solid rubber gasket under my gas tank and my gas gauge works perfect. My gas tank is ground through the 4 hold down clamps. |

POR 15 inisde/outside of tank created the need to clear an area for ground ~as usual~ a self created problem. Clamps jit the edge trim not the tank... |
