Coleman anything are a dime a dozen Cool They made a shit ton back then. Granted a nice lantern or cooler will set you back $50 each but the stoves are much cheaper.

Tents on the other hand - those three list over $250 ea. That nice yellow one is asking $600.

I just found Hrisch Weis explorer tent in a dumpster. Yes, I dumpster dive and this is why! No stakes or poles, just the tent in it's bag. I don't believe it has ever been used. No signs of ever being tied out. Thanks for posting the images from catalog. I at least now know what it's dimensions are and that it should have a T ridge. Does anyone know how that works? Is it one pole with a cross bar at the top and that's it? Then the tie outs hold it in place? I'm thinking I could make something if that's all there is to it. Any thoughts?

I am tickled with this find and could see my Cub Scout and I using it on some of our camp outs.

Thanks again for sharing the info.....

Where are the pics! Sounds like a cool find for sure. New poles can be bought for most configurations.

Big package delivery from the UK. One unused, new in box Klepper tent from the late 60's early 70's. I know [email protected] has an eye on it for sure - any info brother would be appreciated. I did contact the company in Germany. They dont have much in the history or even literature. Information was lost - twice with two sales of the original company in the 80's and then the 90's. Sounds like a Westphalia story. So any documentation of these things fall back to us - the enthusiasts. I have yet to actually set it up and document whats all there. Trust me there is quite a bit - camping accessories as well in addition to the tent. All of it unused, aged but new.

Stay tuned.

Lol. Stuff that goes through your head while looking at samba
Looking at this thread and knowing my neighbor has a vintage White Stag tent in excellent condition he is looking to unload.

Another has a Wenzell he lets his kids play in the back yard.

The White Stag is the one to look into. Great high end manufacture made in Portland. People like those.

I was fortunate to find actual vintage information on my Palazzo III Klepper Tent. No one has this but old lit collectors. Klepper has a museum but they have no clue on most of this accessory stuff, unfortunately. The same could be said about Westfalia as well.

These are shots from the 1961 catalog (prospekt). Now I can identify year of manufacture as well as see some of the camping accessories I have included in my package.

Wish I had the money and space for this one. Same knock down wood frame with canvas skin as the canoes, this larger versatile version. The MTW Delphin 140 boat.
