Hi Folks
I have this stick, I think that it can be original but i'm not sure, it comes with my 1957 Oval. this is for 56 to 60 style fuel tank.
it's in Liters and the rule in centimeters.
Do you know the meaning of the little numbers on the right side of the stick?
Regards
Marcos

Here is a folding stick that has markings for both the alt and nue style fuel tanks.

Has anyone found any fuel sticks for the 56 to 60 hump style tanks, that don't look like crap, or cost a fortune? Aluminum and etched would be nice, but wood will suffice..PM if you know of anyone, Thanks !! _________________ 2003 Samba Chummie Winner- Best Story

I have a fuel stick here that i am wondering about. Any way to tell the year, make, and/or model this would have been used for?

Most people store the dip stick in the wrong place - see photo for correct instillation/storage method

This is my first attempt at making my dipstick. Let’s just say it looks good from the road! |

Perhaps these will be helpful:
The gallons measurments are at odd increments as the stick uses the liter system in increments of 5 liters and the lines line up for both sides of the stick.
Overall length is 14 15/16 inches.
5l/1.3 g= 1 3/4 in.
R = 2 7/16 in.
10l/2.6g= 3 9/16 in.
15l/3.9g= 4 5/16in.
20l/5.2g= 5 1/4 in.
25l/6.9g= 6 1/8 in.
30l/7.9g= 8 1/2 in.
35l/9.2g= 8 13/16in.
40l/ 10.5g= 10 13/16 in. |
Has anyone checked these measurements as the 30L mark doesn't make sense. Maybe it should be 7 1/2in?
Looking at the stick it appears much more linear. _________________ Phill
