It’s over the left tail light for all SO-42 for 65,66, and even some very early 67s
Then in 67 it moved to the long drivers side panel just behind the door.
American made kits had the option of putting it where they wanted
But 67 to 71 have the body mounted reverse lights above the brake lights.
Which prompted westfalia to move the location in the first place. |

Wow, never noticed this (I don't think we have ever removed that seat). Just ran out to ours (1967 SO-42), and indeed, it's there. Very thin, swivels with just enough friction to stay in place.
I assume ours has the electrical warning, but couldn't see from this angle.

LOL, me too. I have a tin top '67 SO42 W/T. I've never looked close under the jump seat. When I do I'll report back. |

As far as I know the outlet being on the jumpseat is a bay window thing.
No split windows had it on the jumpseat. |
THIS^^ Also, I don't think any split SO42 had a circuit breaker or fuse or switch of any kind like the bay had. Bill posted a pic with what looks like a bay jumpseat. Maybe very late 67's came that way. Not sure. |

I‘m happy BarryL that our buses look like havi g the same specs. I think also the side power plug hole is different. As far as I remember, the earlier once have a round hole in the wall. Here is mine:

Do you have a photo from anything on the inside?
Here are two photos from TheSamba Technical section of a 1970 Westfalia manual.
This photo is like mine. I know this is Bay and the 3rd year of Bay. I know Bay had this configuration. I know mine came with it there as a June 1967.
The may be a duality in versions as this very same 1970 Westy manual also shows this setup.

Here are some photos from my inlet and power plug. The wiring goes from the plug into the side of the seat and I do not have such a cover plate with the warning sign mentioned on earlier SO-42‘s.
What I was wondering, did the 110v plate on the outside come with a rubber seal similar to the one that the levinton plug uses? Mine was just screwed to the metal, which leads to leakage. |

Mine has gasket and same inlet and location as yours.

Mine was exactly like yours but I bought new parts from Cole Hersee.

Westfalia seems to have used this setup on European delivered Westy's (possibly in late 67 only) as I've seen this setup on an original owner 67 Westy that was purchased in Germany. Maybe they were testing this setup as a transition to what was used on the Bay Westy's. _________________ RPM=(MPH*336* (R&P*4th*1.26))/Tire Diameter in inches |

I am 100% sure this bus has never been altered in any way. 100% OG. |
Could pillansii or someone post up a photo of the outside location of that inlet for that outlet on the outside or is it by the taillight? |

Sorry for the weird angle.
It’s parked right up against a wall right now. |
