Wink

The riddle is to be continued.

Just as a hint: I was only able to get the wreck from its resting place in bits and pieces.

Jurgen

Hi all,

yes, I can and will, but please be patient. I always have to drive to the shed to make pics of the bigger parts.

Gearshift stick and handbrake lever ... when I found the wreck both stood upright in the ground. As I tried to engage 1st gear to drive off for the next shiny concours award they both failed to work ...

Also the remains of the horn button ... sadly with a crushed push knob; but already "fixed" with adhesive tape ...

Regards,

Jurgen

if this is the start of your build thread and that is what you have to work with I think we might have a winner for the greatest resurrection ever. Very Happy

Rick,

I really would appreciate that; thank you very much. Very Happy
But I think we should at first put the stress on an imaginary new thread saying The crappiest Barndoor front bulkhead being resurrected.

I have planned to have the complete front bulkhead reconstructed at the end of this summer. Then I will start with the rear end and will finally put the whole chassis together. Nowadays you donīt have any other chance than to build your whole BD chassis yourselves. The cars arenīt getting younger! And as I have more time than money Iīm going to fabricate the complicated areas by myself; the easier profiles will be folded cheaply in a metal workshop. This helps to cut down hobby expenses immensely!

Thatīs what is left of the front chassis areas, excluding the front beam mount at the beginning of this thread:
(Anybody know when part stickers with ribbed edges were used? The car had a nasty accident once in its life, was repaired then with a new front and other parts but you can still see a dent on the left side of the wheelarch reinforcement.)
Actually Iīm still lacking a usable rear BD torsion bar tube. Is anyone out there who might sell one to me?

Regards,

Jurgen

I'm assuming a light breeze blew by and disintegrated it. Laughing

Itīs been quite a while since my last visit here ... the dlx is still existent, stored on a dry dark attic. Yes, a disintegrated wreck gets quite easy to handle after the very last spot welds have failed Rolling Eyes

No time at all since 2012 to start rebuilding.

Just relaxed collecting of spare parts in the meantime.

I keep it and will come back to its rebuild around 2025 Very Happy

Love this build - utterly bonkers but you obviously have great skills - keep at it! Any chance of an 'as found' picture of the remains of the chassis?
