I just picked up a 1973 with possibly original 68K miles. It has been resprayed but otherwise looks solid. The engine is a 1600 with serial AH459607 and the tranny is 113.301.103L I don't believe the transmission is the original because I can't find the reverse switch where you can connect the reverse lights.
I can get the gas heater to run but I can't get it to fire. Any quick tips of where to start? My last 73 had no issues with the heater.
There is power to the wiper motor, but it won't activate the wipers. Anything I should look for?
Thanks in advance _________________ Ray

Flik the momentary switch a couple of times and then try it. (it is located on top rear of the heater under the plastic cover) _________________ Supposed to be 77käfer, but there are no umlauts on an american keyboard

You are welcome.
I used to have to do that each fall when I wanted to use the heater. Just the first use of the cold weather season, not every time. _________________ Supposed to be 77käfer, but there are no umlauts on an american keyboard

I also have a 73 with an AH motor. What did you do with the air snorkels and air ducts? Got a picture? |

I’m pretty sure that AH motors were not standard in 73 or in any Thing for that matter. I don’t have the snorkel hooked up, but seller included it so I’m planning to install it back on.
