I got this wiper set up with my 63 bug project. After looking in the gallery here and looking online I cannot find any pix of this type motor. Seems to be factory. Any way to figure the pin out or even if its 6 or 12v? I put 6v across the ground and one other pin, it does work, slowly. Anybody use a reducing resister to use a 6v in a 12v system. (Converting to 12v.)

Well, looks to be a Bosch unit like this older/earlier screw-terminal example:
That's all I could find in the first 5 pages (of 20) when I did a search for 'wiper motor' in the gallery. Don't know whether yours would be 6 or 12, could be slow on 6 volts due to old gummy grease (unless you've replaced the old grease already). Might be a part-number under the dirt where the one I found has it, that would help you narrow it down. _________________ Two Bugs-

The motor is 12V. That would explain the motor running slow when you connected 6V to it. I would consider also taking the gear assembly loose from the motor and cleaning out the old grease and replacing it with new. |
