Finally !! Got my new seals and newly chromed window frames back into the Kab.
Learned so much of do's and don'ts of how to do it.....same philosophy as getting into the Met. Practice practice practice......
Learned of where to buy what not buy and lessons learned.
Now if I can retain it...pictures to come.

That was last year at Solvang.  |
Same kids same vert,10 years later.Franks vert & my boys changed a bit Youngest was 3 oldest was 7 at the time.

Frank is looking good! The vert isn't too shabby either!
We missed you on Sunday for the drive and automotive and petroliana museum visit Frank, as a group of eight of us in four old VWs chose to leave for the Bay Area early and drive those old VWs up HWY 1 all the way up past Hearst Castle, Big Sur, Carmel and into Monterey. My wife and I were in Mark Merrill's 1952 green Split window crotch-cooler Deluxe Sedan. What a blast to cruise a 25hp Beetle all the way up the coastline that day!
It was great to see you Frank during the Solvang Vintage VW weekend!

Finally getting round to finishing my car off but I have a couple of things I need help with.
1) I need to set up how far the rear side windows wind up. The VW workshop manual talks about shortening the stop at the roller arm by means of a file with the window half its travel. Anyone done this before? Can anyone post a photo to show where the stop is as for the life of me I can't see it!
2) Can someone post a photo of the bracket that bolts to the inside door skin and which the passenger door panel armrest slides onto when installing the door panel? (for a pre-Aug 55 car)

The oval convertible factory mirror has a longer arm due to the fact that the door edge is higher. The vert mirror has a 151 ... ... part number stamped in. Type 15= cabriolet.

Thanks "Soldeli" for letting us know what it cost for the re-chrome job in France! It'll be interesting to hear what that job costs here in the States, perhaps Tom will update this when he get's his California shop bill? I'll eventually be doing it on my '57 Kab somewhere here in the Midwest...

Bill, belated reply, last year it had cost me $400.00 to have my frames rechromed.
