Hi all,

Picked up these seats recently that have a late beetle (early Golf/Rabbit) base on them but I can't be 100% sure that the seat base upwards isn't from another car as I've never seen highbacks with this type of side lever before.

Please can anyone help ID what car they're off?

Thanks.

Thanks guys. They do look similar but I've never seen the side lever before, and the bar just below the rear of the seat pad looks different to any late bug seat.

I've seen mexican and brazilian bug seats that haven't looked like that.

It looks like the seat frame is a beetle but the seat itself looks aftermarket.

looking closer, it seems as if the side plates are welded to the remains of a lower seat pan....

are they 914 seats? something doesn't look right on the lower pan

Those crappy adjuster mechanisms remind me of 70s/early 80s Scat shit or maybe Scheel. I've seen them before but can't remember exactly what it was.

I agree. it looks as if they bolted the rear of the brackets to where the pivot for the backrest went then welded tabs to the forward part of the frame.

looks like late 70's early 80's catalogue seats for sure....
